Christmas, etc.

Someone told me a few days ago that they were impressed with my blog and how often I updated it and I felt really guilty because I am so far behind what most people do!!  So, here's a quick update, hopefully more to come eventually.

As you can imagine, we had a great Christmas, with too much stuff.  The big gifts were a Cars racetrack and a tabletop ping pong table for Jordan.  AND Skechers that light up - he's been asking for those forever.  Trevor got a basketball goal and a shopping cart (he LOVES to push things around the house - he puts all the toys he can fit in the shopping cart and pushes it around).  There were lots more gifts, but those were what Santa brought.  "Golfcart" Papa got Jordan a Leapster 2, which he plays with all the time and Nana got him G.I. Joe toys.  I'm not excited about the guns and weapons era starting, but I knew it would come eventually.  Trevor still loves Elmo, so he got lots of things that involved Elmo - including the shopping cart.

The boys are growing and changing like crazy.  Jordan still loves to entertain - constantaly.  He gets up in the morning and starts talking and does not stop until he goes to bed.

Trevor is adding words to his vocabulary every day.  He loves to yell people's names and tries to repeat nearly everything Jordan says.  He can say Momma and Dada, of course.  He has a word for Jordan, which sounds a  lot like Dada, but he rarely calls for Jordan - mostly because he is usually standing right next to him, as he follows him everywhere he goes.  He loves to say "please" and make the sign for it, which looks a lot like him rubbing his belly - it's adorable.  He says thank you, though it's only intelligible because he says after you give him something.  He loves to wave and say "bye-bye" and is the cutest thing in the world when he blows you a kiss.  He is a very, very, sweet natured child and is prone to giving spontaneous hugs and kisses.  He is starting to enjoy watching t.v. with Jordan and seems to have a preference for the Backyardigans.  He also loves to pretend to clean - to push around his play vacuum or to push the broom around the kitchen.  And he LOVES to color and/or draw.  All the time.  Almost as much as Jordan likes music.  We'll see if that continues.  Jordan may get his musical talent from Carl's parents, but if Trevor has artistic talent, I have NO idea where that will come from . . ...

Here's some pictures to enjoy.  More  later.  I tried to add more now, but blogger has changed the picture uploader on me and I can't figure it out.

Justin Loves Jesus

A couple of weeks ago, I took a break from my late night brief writing to go up and say goodnight to Jordan (this is a game that goes on every night - one of us puts him to bed, the next has to go "lay with him for a minute," then if the person who put him to bed is feeling particularly week, they have to go back up there for "one more minute"). Anyway, I went and laid down and asked him if he wanted me to sing him a song.
"Yes."
"What do you want me to sing?"
"Ummm, Justin (as in Timberlake)."
"No, we're only going to sing Jesus songs."
"OK, Jesus Loves the Little Children and Jesus Loves Me."
So I sang them.
"Mommy, I made up a Jesus song, you want to hear it?"
"Of course."
"It's called Justin loves Jesus."
Trying not laugh, "OK, sing it for me."
I wish I could recite all the words, but it included things like "Justin loves Jesus. He died one day and went up to see Jesus and God and he said Hi and he hugged them. Then they went on a roller coaster ride." Then, to the tune of Jesus loves me, "Yes, Justin loves Jesus. Yes, Justin loves Jesus."
"Mommy, you want to try and sing it now?"
"No, that's OK."
With tears in my eyes as I'm holding back laughter until I could get downstairs and tell Carl about it . . ...
The next morning, I asked him to sing his new song for Daddy.
"Which one?"
"You know, the one you made up last night."
"OHHH. Justin loves Jesus?"
"yes, that one."
"No, that's only a song for going to sleep."
We were laying in bed, so I said, "well, Daddy is still asleep now."
"No, it's only for nighttime, when everyone is going to sleep. That's what I was talking about."

Toothbrushing for Trevor . . . and Elmo.

The Elmo teeth cleaning was completly unsolicited. How cute is it that he did that on his own?

French Fries with Ranch Dip are Gooood . . . ...
